It's important to take care of yourself in these tough times, but it's also important to remember to care for others! Watch this short message from Ms. B for more details.

It's no surprise to anyone that this is a difficult season and quite unexpected for everyone. So, today, we are talking about perspective, particularly about a glass being "half- full" or "half-empty". Click the video below to learn with Ms. B! Move. Moving is important, especially when each of us has been cooped up with online learning and work! For myself, I choose to go on a walk each day if the weather is nice. Moving helps you process your thinking, relax your body, and spend the energy that has been stored in you with being at home! What have you been doing for your movement today? There are some great resources out there if you need some ideas. Right now, I’ve really loved Cosmic Kids Yoga, that includes movement and an adventure! You can find it here: View our video message here: ASCA Standards:

Be encouraged! We are in this together. With Spring Break, long days off, and so much constant change in reference to the COVID-19, it's easy to feel overwhelmed in the midst of uncertainty. These drastic changes in society can leave us feeling anxious, stressed, and worried. It's in times like these when we need to remember to take care of our mental and physical health. I don't know about you, but I like basic steps to remind myself on what to do to feel better. Here is a daily list of things you can do as a family or individually to support your own wellness: 1. Take time to breathe. (Really, just breathe. Inhale for 3 seconds & exhale for 3 seconds. Do this 10 times in a row.) 2. Get outside. (Take 5-10 minutes minimum each day to take a stroll, check the mail, jog on a trail, walk the dog.) 3. Talk to one another. (Take time to be off phones and screens and just connect with one another. Give your family space to talk about hard feelings, but also take time to laugh about silly moments and jokes.) 4. Exercise. (Move! Even if you have to stay inside, find workout challenges and yoga poses to practice each day.) Our current favorite app right now is the Calm App, with specific programs utilized for the COVID-19 circumstances. Check it out here: https://bit.ly/2vRjKju |
